In the spring of 2019, Alexandra Loembé was part of the Out of Residence program of the Dance in Education program (ATD/AHK) and Ecole des Sables in Senegal. She spent a month on the sun-drenched grounds of Ecole des Sables and lived and danced with an international group of dancers in the dance studios in the middle of nature. This experience had a great influence in Alexandra's development as a dance artist. Working in the open air stimulated her senses and activated her body awareness in an intensive way. The collaboration between the teachers and the live musicians inspired her. Alexandra has learned a lot from the technique Acogny and other contemporary and/or traditional African dance aesthetics, in which the movement of the spine plays an important role.
